About Tao Spa Glenside & Spring House Massage

Tao Spa is a Pennsylvania wellness spa with two Montgomery County locations — Glenside (106 N Keswick Ave, 4.7 stars on Google) and Spring House (752 N Bethlehem Pike, 5.0 stars on Google). The name "Tao" reflects our philosophy of balance and harmony: every session is designed for relaxation, recovery, and well-being, not to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
We were founded with a simple mission: to bring authentic, high-quality massage and bodywork to the communities of Montgomery County. Today, our trained therapists specialize in deep tissue massage, reflexology, Thai massage, Ashiatsu, facials, and specialty bodywork like Migraine Massage and Gua Sha. Sessions start at $42 and run up to a 6-hour Special Package.

What Is Tao Spa?
Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy
Tao Spa is a relaxation and wellness spa with two Pennsylvania locations offering massage, reflexology, facials, and specialty bodywork. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy. Our therapists are professional, cross-trained practitioners with multi-year backgrounds in both Eastern bodywork (acupressure, meridian therapy, reflexology, Gua Sha) and Western techniques (Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage). This dual expertise allows us to tailor each session to your specific needs — whether you are recovering from a workout, managing day-to-day stress, or simply looking for a moment of quiet.
Our Approach to Massage & Bodywork
Listen first, customize every session
Every visit begins with a quick conversation about pressure preferences, areas of concern, and what you'd like out of the session. There is no membership, no contract, and no upselling at the front desk — you pay for the service you book, and tips go directly to your therapist. According to the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the most effective sessions are ones where the client communicates openly with the therapist about pressure and comfort — that is how we work every time. The NCCIH overview of massage therapy also notes that pressure preference and ongoing dialogue with the therapist are central to a comfortable and effective session.
Whether you're seeking relief from chronic muscle tension, a relaxing couples massage, or simply need a moment of peace, Tao Spa is your sanctuary. We're open seven days a week at Glenside (9 AM – 9 PM) and six days a week at Spring House (10 AM – 9 PM, closed Tuesdays). Walk-ins are always welcome. If you are curious how people find us in the first place, we publish our own local search strategy for Glenside and Spring House — the keyword clusters and landing pages behind each service-and-city search we answer.
Massage Therapy & Mental Wellbeing
Tao Spa is a wellness spa, not a medical clinic
The Tao philosophy is rooted in balance — not just of the body, but of the mind. A quiet hour on the table is, for many of our regulars, the calmest part of the week. That mental-wellbeing dimension is increasingly recognized in clinical literature: Mayo Clinic, in Mayo Clinic on the role of massage therapy for mental health, describes how hands-on bodywork can support relaxation, ease anxious feelings, and help people reset emotionally. Tao Spa is not a medical clinic and our therapists do not diagnose or treat medical conditions — we provide spa-based relaxation and recovery sessions only. Clients with specific health concerns should consult their doctor before booking.

How we work
Massage and spa care at Tao Spa: what stays the same at both locations
Tao Spa runs two storefronts, and the point of this page is that a visit works the same way at either one. Tao Spa Glenside at 106 N Keswick Ave is open 9 AM to 9 PM every day and is rated 4.7 stars from 277 Google reviews. Tao Spa Spring House at 752 N Bethlehem Pike is open 10 AM to 9 PM, closed on Tuesdays, and is rated 5.0 stars from 49 Google reviews. Both are staffed by licensed massage therapists, both answer the same number, (215) 824-8585, and both follow the routine described below from the moment you check in.
The session starts before you are on the table. Whichever address you choose, a licensed massage therapist asks how firm you like the pressure, which areas are bothering you, and what you want to walk out feeling. That short exchange decides which session actually fits: a 30-minute Deep Tissue Massage aimed at one stubborn spot is a different booking from a 120-minute Deep Relaxation Massage, and your answers steer you toward one or the other. The therapists are licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy and cross-trained in Eastern and Western technique, which is the expert part of the conversation: they can hear a vague description and translate it into a length and a style.
Pressure is checked again once the work begins, not only at the start. Both locations ask you to say so if a stroke is too deep or too light, and the therapist adjusts on the spot rather than finishing the hour at a setting that does not suit you. This is the professional habit the American Massage Therapy Association points to when it describes an effective session, and the reason a firm session at Tao Spa can go deeper than you expected without becoming something to endure. Speaking up costs nothing, and it is the single biggest thing you can do to improve the session.
There is nothing to join at either location. Tao Spa sells no memberships and asks for no contract, so the price of the session you book is the whole price, and a tip goes directly to the therapist who worked on you. Nobody at the front desk will try to move you to a longer or pricier service than the one you asked for. Walk-ins are taken at both addresses during open hours, which at Glenside means any day of the week and at Spring House means every day except Tuesday. If a room is not free when you arrive, the desk will tell you the next opening.
Gift cards are the last thing the two locations share. A card bought for Tao Spa Glenside is valid at Tao Spa Spring House and the reverse, so a gift can be spent wherever the recipient lives, on anything from a 50-minute Reflexology Special to the 100-minute Massage and Facial that pairs a 50-minute hot stone massage with a 50-minute Hydration Facial. If you are choosing between the two addresses for the first time, the differences sit at the edges of the menu: Glenside alone books Tao Ashiatsu Massage, and Spring House alone offers waxing. Everything in the paragraphs above is identical, which is the whole idea.
